Here at CMRC, we provide Gait Rehabilitation services for patients who have problems involving their locomotor skills (walking), whether the impairment is caused by a disease or injury. Walking is a primary functional skill that can impact the performance of expected roles in society and the community.

Recovery of independent walking with or without the use of assistive devices is an important goal for many patients who seek physiotherapy interventions. Treatment for impairments that limit or prevent ambulation applies to a variety of clients seen by Physiotherapists.

Through a process of individualized assessments and communication with the patient, family, and/or caregivers, appropriate specific locomotor training strategies which include preparatory exercises and gait training or retraining can be given and modified to meet the needs of a client.
